Ryan Smither is a 2023 MPU Fellow and Washington, D.C. Brickyard Leader.

Ryan Smither is a self-described “public-interest lawyer.” Ryan is 39 years old, a resident of Washington, D.C., having lived primarily in Louisville, Kentucky, throughout his life. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and a law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in northern Kentucky. Ryan served as a Staff Attorney with AppalReD Legal Aid, a nationally-recognized legal aid organization in Appalachian Kentucky, and later opened his own law practice focused on bridging America’s justice gap.
